On the first day of winter a giant mosaic of a Sloane’s Froglet was created by artist Vicki Luke with a team of volunteers.
A project funded by NSW Office of Environment & Heritage as part of the Saving Our Species program in partnership with AlburyCity. The aim was to connect kids with their local species by growing 2.5cm frog to 40metres.
Volunteers painted 1200 boards to a digitised design representing the unique markings of this tiny frog. Surveyors, volunteers, coloured boards, plans and the lead artist gather early on a frosty morning.
Helicopter is ordered for noon… No pressure.
